Catherine Island is one of the most beautiful islands of Rovinj's archipellago. It is only some hundred meters away from the town center so that it is very easy to reach it by taxi-boats which leave every hour from the little pier, that is, from the harbour Delfin (see schedule).

The Mediterranean macchia and the old coniferous forest dominate on Catherine Island, and nearby the hotel and the annex you will find well taken care of flowery parks and paths. On the island you will also find a cultivated vineyard and some old olive trees. Even the photos on our sites will convince you of the irresistibility of the island's natural beauty.

The most attended beaches on Catherine Island are located on the eastern side of the island and they are mostly stony with some accessible and attractive bays. Beside them, there is a large number of available services that the island offers, the reason being primarily the presence of the hotel Catherine. Therefore, you can use the pool, the bar, the services of the diving center, you can rent windsurfing equipment, use the beach volleyball ground, the sand-pit for children and all the other services that will guarantee you an interesting and pleasant stay on the island.

Port - ARRIVAL

On the north-western side of the island, well-known rocks are located, such as the Golden, the Silver and the Bronze Rock. These are high rocks – they reach a height of up to 15 meters – which fall vertically into the sea that has a depth of three and more meters. The rocks are at the same time the most attractive locations in Rovinj's entire archipellago for those who love to jump into the sea. We would like to warn you that such activities can be very dangerous, and that you have to be careful where you are going to jump, and that you do this only at your own responsibility!

Another thing to which we would like to draw your attention to is the fact that the closeness of Catherine Island to the heart of the old town, to the big pier and to Delfin harbour leads to a frequent traffic of all kinds of crafts nearby the island. These are yachts, fisherboats, speedboats, catamarans and other crafts which put all those swimmers in danger who use to swim out into the open sea. On Catherine Island, please swim as close to the beach as possible: by law all crafts are forbidden to come closer to the island on more than 50 meters, but fact is that this rule is sometimes disregarded by mistake or neglect.
